Sr. Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst

WKS Restaurant Group is a dynamic, rapidly growing multi-concept franchise restaurant developer and operator, operating over 320 stores in 19 states. WKS is a licensed franchisee of El Pollo Loco, Wendy’s, Denny’s, Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, Blaze Pizza and Corner Bakery Café.

Summary /Objective

The role of Senior Financial Analyst (FP&A) requires an intellectually curious, independent, and forward-thinking individual. This role balances the transactional with the strategic in order to deliver data-driven insights to inform and direct critical business decisions. This role will help complete all financial cycle responsibilities of the FP&A function for this $500M annual revenue group of affiliated restaurant companies that operate 300 restaurants under six different franchise brands in 17 states, using shared back-office support services.

The role will report to the Senior Director of Financial Planning & Analysis (SDFP&A) of WKS. It will work very closely with all members of the WKS Senior Leadership Team (SLT), each Concept Leader, and support center staff. 

Essential Functions

• Assist with the annual financial planning process of all WKS restaurants and affiliated restaurant companies, and monthly restaurant-level budgeting, reporting, and analysis
• Analyze monthly financial results in order to identify sales & margin improvement opportunities
• Perform drill-down analysis to determine the root cause of variances
• Compile and distribute reports for operations and support center department dashboards and KPIs
• Provide financial analysis support to SLT and Concept Leaders as requested
• Provide the SDFP&A with accurate and timely responses on all ad hoc analysis assignments
• Manage ERP data loading process and ensure data quality of new plan, budget, and forecast

Competencies

• Expert level of Excel proficiency is required, including proficiency building and managing complex excel models
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
• Strong Analytical Skills and intellectual curiosity
• Financial Reporting Experience
• Large BI systems experience a plus (Adaptive Insights, COGNOS, etc.)
• Good understanding of ERP systems
• Strong accounting foundation

Required Education and Experience

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on FP&A experience
• Restaurant industry FP&A experience is a plus
• MBA is a plus

Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, etc.
